Angels take close one from Rangers

The Los Angeles Angels Of Anaheim barely got a “W” over the Texas Rangers yesterday at Angel Stadium with the Angels winning 2 to 1. Wow! What a nail biter! This was a pitchers duel that Jered Weaver and C.J. Wilson will never forget! Fans with Angels tickets saw two fantastic pitchers do battle. You don’t see baseball games as low-scoring as this, and when you do you better appreciate it! In fact all sports are a great time so check out what sports tickets are out there.

Angels pitcher Jered Weaver (2.82 ERA) got the win, while C.J. Wilson (3.34 ERA) took the loss for the Rangers. Jered Weaver went 7 solid innings for the Angels, allowed 2 hits, no home runs and no earned runs with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Angels was Fernando Rodney (3.34). The Rangers’s starter C.J. Wilson went 5.2 innings, allowed 5 hits, no home runs and 2 earned runs with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts. Darren O’Day (1.72), Darren Oliver (1.49), and Alexi Ogando (0.00) also pitched for the Rangers. With the win, Weaver’s record goes to 8-3, while Wilson falls to 6-4. Brian Fuentes earned the save for the Angels, bringing his saves up to 15.

In addition to the 2 runs, the Angels managed 6 hits and committed one error. It wasn’t a huge day for anyone at the plate for the Angels, as nobody managed more than 2 hits. Hideki Matsui had a tough day at the plate, leaving 5 runners on base. The Rangers didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. Nelson Cruz could not get much going at the plate as he left 5 runners on base. The Rangers managed one run, 4 hits and one error.

Umpiring duties were performed by Bill Hohn, Gary Darling, Bruce Dreckman and Paul Emmel. There were 41,162 Angels ticket holders in attendance at Angel Stadium.
