Angels thrashed by White Sox 9-2

The Chicago White Sox vaporized the Los Angeles Angels Of Anaheim yesterday at US Cellular Field with the White Sox picking up the W 9 to 2. It was one heck of a game that folks with White Sox tickets aren’t likely to forget.

White Sox pitcher Gavin Floyd (4.43 ERA) got the win, while Scott Kazmir (5.98 ERA) took the loss for the Angels. Gavin Floyd went 7 solid innings for the White Sox, allowed 5 hits, no home runs and one earned run with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Also pitching for the White Sox was Bobby Jenks (4.25), and Erick Threets (0.00). The Angels’s starter Scott Kazmir went 6.1 innings, allowed 6 hits, 3 home runs and 7 earned runs with 5 walks and 3 strikeouts. Rich Thompson (5.40) also pitched for the Angels. With the win, Floyd’s record goes to 4-7, while Kazmir is at 7-8. Sergio Santos earned the save for the White Sox, bringing his saves up to 1.

In addition to the 9 runs, the White Sox scored 9 hits and committed no errors. It wasn’t a huge day for anyone at the plate for the White Sox, as nobody managed more than 2 hits. Howard Kendrick had the most hits for the Angels (3), followed by Bobby Wilson (1). The Angels managed 2 runs, 6 hits and 2 errors.

Umpiring duties were performed by Mike Reilly, Chad Fairchild, Eric Cooper and Bill Miller. There were 38,092 White Sox ticket holders in attendance at US Cellular Field.
